As unemployment numbers continue to devastate Calgary, unemployment insurance (for many) comes to a halt and severance packages run their course, thousands of Calgarians are struggling to make it from one financial obligation to the next, while also trying to keep up with an ever-increasing cost-of-living. Feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place, many have turned to credit to get them through the pinch of economic distress. While credit can be an incredible tool, credit reliance can quickly escalate into a cycle of debt that’s impossible to keep up with and very difficult to get out of.
