Vic leads the firm’s Corporate Recovery practice for Southern Alberta and Manitoba and MNP’s Class Action Claims Administration practice.
Vic, who has worked with financial advisory clients since 1982, acts as monitor under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangements Act, and as receiver, manager and trustee pursuant to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. In these roles, he undertakes viability assessments, restructures, conducts and manages companies, and is responsible for asset sales and distributing proceeds in accordance with applicable insolvency legislation and / or Court orders.
Vic has undertaken numerous due diligence and business review engagements on behalf of purchasers, investors and lenders. He has worked with companies of all sizes and with operations in a number of countries, and has been involved in some of Alberta’s largest insolvencies.
Vic has extensive experience helping companies in all industries, with special emphasis on the agriculture, energy, real estate, gaming, mining, transportation, hospitality, retail, technology, energy and construction industries.
He has also led numerous class action claims administration engagements.
Vic earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) Honours in accounting and finance from the University of Manitoba. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1981. He holds the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations and is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT).
