My income is much lower in the winter when we're not as busy at work, can a consumer proposal still work for me?

Yes a consumer proposal would still be a viable option. The terms of a consumer proposal can be quite flexible, particularly as it relates to the payment schedule. For example, if your work is seasonally based with higher income in the summer months, you could structure the proposal to include higher monthly payments say from May to October and then lower payments from November to April. In other cases, such as with farmers, it may be more effective to do a proposal that involves semi-annual or annual payments rather than monthly.

Contact an MNP Trustee in your area to discuss the options available to you.
