My Cousin Claimed Bankruptcy A Couple Years Ago And Of Course Is Having Trouble

2010-04-20

Hello, This sounds like a question for a credit bureau as Trustees in Bankruptcy do not manage this information.  That being said, I don't think this is an option.  A bankruptcy shows up on your credit report for approximately 6 years after you are discharged, so for a first time bankrupt who received a Certificate of Discharge or "Automatic Discharge" after 9 months, the bankruptcy would appear on your credit report for approximately 7 years. Again, I would suggest that you contact a credit bureau (e.g. Equifax or TransUnion) to determine if this is possible.  I'm not aware of any cases where this has occurred.
