Giving Back To Our Community

2018-10-03

Helping people is what we do at MNP Debt. Every day, we work to provide tailored and effective debt solution that eliminate our clients' stress, improve their relationships and provide hope for a better financial future. It's truly gratifying work. But it's also a frequent reminder that not everyone is as fortunate as we are, and we are in a privileged position to do even more to support the less fortunate in our community.

This past summer we were proud to support several organizations which provide unique and essential services to individuals in need throughout the Hamilton and Niagara regions.

CityKidz

CityKidz is an incredible organization which provides a range of specialized programs and services for children in low-income families.

In partnership with our Stoney Creek neighbours Giant Tiger, we were proud to host a charity barbecue which served more than 100 people and raised $2,300 for the organization.

We look forward to turning this into an annual event to raise even more funds for CityKidz in the future.

Niagara Children's Care Centre (NCC)

The NCC assists children with cognitive and physical disabilities through a range of social and rehabilitative services. Their annual fundraising campaign Help Kids Shine shares inspiring client stories to make a case for supporting critical community programming.

As a contributing sponsor for the campaign, MNP was proud to donate $5,000 to the cause.

We were also excited to participate in the NCC's annual Plasma Car Race. Sadly, our Debtbusters team didn't take the chequered flag — but they were happy to secure the consolation prize for best costume.

Snacks n' Sneakers

The Snacks n' Sneakers program helps Niagara region children start school on the right foot by stuffing backpacks with school supplies, snacks and sneakers.

To support this critical effort, MNP has hosted a charity barbecue for the past five years — with this year being the first at our new Ontario Street location in St. Catharines. We're proud to say we collected $2,000 in monetary donations alongside a whopping four barrels of school supplies and snacks.

We're already looking forward to how we can grow our involvement and increase that number next year.

Making Our Communities Stronger

We can all do incredible things by joining forces with the difference-makers in our community. As MNP continues to help improve the financial health of Niagara and Hamilton residents, we're proud to play a small part in supporting charities like those above to improve social and economic outcomes as well.
