Consumer Proposal On Credit Bureau

There are two (2) major credit reporting agencies in Ontario, Equifax and TransUnion.  Both of these agencies keep the filing of a consumer proposal on their records for three (3) years following the last payment, which should be the same time that you received your certificate of full performance.  Since you completed your proposal in March 2010, the record of the proposal should no longer appear after March 2013, just one year from now.

Person calculating their bills and money

If you have not already sent a copy of your certificate of full performance to Equifax and TransUnion, you should do so as soon as possible.  It is also recommended that you request an updated credit report in April 2013 to ensure the consumer proposal no longer appears.
