Deborah Hornbostel, CPA, CA, CIRP, LIT, CFE, is a Senior Vice President with MNP’s Corporate Insolvency Practice. Based in Toronto, her practice focuses on corporate restructuring, financial advisory consulting, and corporate recovery.
Deborah is a compassionate, experienced professional with more than 25 years of experience in financial restructuring and insolvency proceedings under a variety of legislative vehicles. She acts for secured creditors who are concerned about the recovery of their loans and also assists companies as well as business owners facing challenging debt problems. Deborah strives to work amicably with all stakeholders to develop creative strategies that maximize value and is experienced in restructuring and enforcement of security in a wide range of industries.
She earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and Licensed Insolvency Trustee. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and has assisted lenders with the pursuit of their fraudulent debtors. She has worked with the RCMP and local police to obtain criminal convictions.
Deborah currently serves as Chair for the Ontario network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals.
